We are devoted fans of Chicago theatre, having experienced its power to change our lives while simultaneously educating and entertaining us. We created this website for two reasons: to celebrate Chicago theatre and its many dedicated artists, and to create a record of our philanthropic support of Chicago theatre (to inform future grant-making from our estate, after we’re gone).

If you too are a fan of Chicago theatre, you might enjoy the Favorites section of our website, where we celebrate the shows that have really stayed with us and continue to enhance our lives.

If you’re interested in theatrical philanthropy, the Philanthropy section of our website summarizes what we’ve supported and why.

In any case, we hope you enjoy the journey and perhaps feel inspired to revisit your own theatrical adventures!

Note: Although only theatre-related philanthropy is included on this website, we also support social justice initiatives focusing on erasing racial and ethnic inequity. We know that two people can’t begin to remedy manifold, centuries-old inequities, but we are contributing to significant efforts through the Chicago Community Trust’s initiatives to effect systemic change.
